8 holes, Par 72,6.031 m. Designed by Paul Putman. Open in 1972
The historical Villamartín golf course was inaugurated in 1972; Villamartin Golf Club is an 18 hole course of 6132 metres with fairways of Bermuda grass and greens of Penncross. It was designed by the legendary Paul Putman and is one of the longest-established courses in the Costa Blanca.
Its extraordinary design and unmatched setting make this course one of the best golf courses to play in Spain. Its well-rooted and mature vegetation of over 40 years provides a beautiful backdrop. Villamartin Golf provides a course for players of all levels to enjoy since it requires the use of every club in the bag. The greens at Villamartin are wonderfully designed, and the course has attracted some important tournaments. Severiano Ballesteros, José María Olazábal, Ian Woosnan and many other international figures have played golf here.
The greens at Villamartín are of international quality, with very popular holes such as hole 17, a par 3 surrounded with Mediterranean pines and a rambla you must cross to arrive at the very generous green.
