18 holes, Par 72, 6260 m., designed by Alejandro Maldonado, open in 1996
It features many bunkers and water hazards, but the wide fairways and experts say the greens are among the best in AndalucÃa. The course is particularly challenging when there is a wind blowing. Its 18 holes spread over the softly rolling Dehesa among impressive centenary trees. Tees and greens layout, fitted to landscape and the excellent care of the green surface make Montenmedio golf course one of the best in Europe in quality and landscape. The long, 550m 12th is a model par-5 hole; this gently undulating terrain presents amazing golf-course scenery. Four par-5 holes are long and complicated by doglegs; most holes are par-4, and a few piquant par-3s complete an exciting course. Nowadays, it is one of the best cared for and more natural in the south of Europe. The absence of urban development and Cadiz's lush nature and climate make it a natural paradise. It is an undiscovered treasure, part of a 500-hectare estate blessed with an abundance of pine trees, cork oaks, and wildlife such as eagles, deer, and foxes. Has impressive views of the Atlantic, with villages such as Vejer de la Frontera, Benalup and Medina Sidonia.
Playing its 18 holes is always fun and surprising: deer, rabbits, ducks and other animals accompany the player along his gentle round. The clubhouse is designed in neoclassic Andalusien style with Asian influences and refined furnishings and offers excellent golf services.
